John Maxfield Steineger is an adviser to Axonklinikken and Axon Research Foundation, and will be involved in Project Momentum, the Foundation’s treatment project for veterans.

He is a physician and psychiatrist, and became a specialist in psychiatry in 1996. Over a long career in the Armed Forces he led the stress management team for international operations, served as director of the Institute of Aviation Medicine and as clinical director at Oslo University Hospital, Aker. He concluded his career as a major general and Surgeon General of the Norwegian Armed Forces.

With a background in military psychiatry and work on stress-related disorders among veterans, he brings clinical and organisational experience to the foundation’s veteran programme.
